Ladies Lunch 2017 is a Record-breaker!

CategoriesUncategorized

We needn’t have worried that a change of venue to Dalziel Park Country House Hotel might put off regular groups of ladies who gladly attend this annual event. More space meant more guests could come, and invited performers, plus a fashion show all were accommodated. In fact our fundraiser efforts were a ‘best ever amount’, totalling the grand total of £7k! Huge thanks must go to headline act, Michelle McManus who had attendees in stitches on her adventures before meeting her husband to be, a brave man indeed who joined 245 ladies!

Michelle was ably supported by our very own Beth Swan, who wowed them as always, and Lorraine Summers. It really was a super and smooth-running day out, well worth the ticket price of £35. Feedback to Colin on the venue and meal proved very positive, so here’s to a return in 2018. Keep 16th September free!

On a mild Summer’s day in June with forecast of wet weather 30 ramblers walked round Drumpellier Country Park in Coatbridge to raise much needed funds for MAF.
The rain managed to stay away, in fact the sun even made an appearance – allowing us to take a photo of those who took part for our 2018 calendar.

A huge thank you to Brian Woods who donated the burgers again, cooked to perfection by Carole Andrew, which were enjoyed on the completion of the circuit.

A thank you also to React Transport for providing everyone with bottles of water, which were delivered by one of our fabulous Volunteers Mandy Young and her children Aaron and Keira – who love this annual event. A grand total of £1321.10 was raised with which we are delighted. Well done the walkers!
