ANGELA DONALDSON
Angela brings 12 years of senior leadership experience across complex public sector organisations, with a particular focus on financial stewardship, corporate services, and organisational transformation. A qualified accountant (FCCA), she has built a career on strengthening systems, improving governance, and ensuring that public bodies deliver high‑quality, value‑for‑money services.
Angela is currently Director of Finance at the Information Commissioner’s Office, where she serves as the organisation’s most senior finance leader. She oversees Finance, Procurement and Estates, leads on long‑term financial planning, and provides strategic assurance to the Management Board and Audit & Risk Committee.
Her work has included modernising corporate services, implementing new financial systems, and shaping sustainable funding models in partnership with government.
Prior to joining the ICO, Angela held a series of senior roles at the Student Loans Company, including Head of Finance and Head of Operations Performance. Across these roles she led large teams, delivered major organisational improvements, and strengthened financial credibility with government stakeholders. Earlier in her career, she held finance roles within the Scottish Qualifications Authority, Direct Line, and Scottish Amicable Investment Managers.
Her motivation for serving as a trustee is rooted in a strong belief in the Foundation’s mission and a desire to use her professional expertise to help safeguard and strengthen the charity for the future.
Angela joined the Moira Anderson Foundation Board in January 2023. She contributes to the strategic direction of the charity and provides financial assurance to support the sustainability and growth of its services. She is committed to ensuring that the Foundation continues to offer safe, compassionate, and effective support to survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse.
