The Moira Anderson Foundation’s vision is to live in a world free from Childhood Sexual Abuse.

Our mission is raising awareness of Childhood Sexual Abuse in society, building trust with survivors and offering a range of therapeutic services in a safe and caring environment, and reducing the impact of trauma.

Our Heritage
Moira Anderson was 11 years old when she vanished on February 23, 1957, after getting caught in a blizzard on her way to the shops. Moira has never been seen again. It is every family’s worst nightmare and Moira’s family were left to wonder and worry. It is likely she was abducted and murdered but she has never been found and the questions remain unanswered.

The Moira Anderson Foundation, based in North Lanarkshire, Scotland was launched in the year 2000 by Sandra Brown as a legacy to Moira Anderson and her family. It provides a place of safety and support for children and adults who have been affected by Childhood Sexual Abuse.

The Moira Anderson Foundation provided me with the help and support I needed, at a point in my life where I needed help the most. I cannot thank them enough for their support.



I would urge anyone who has been a victim to step forward and speak with the Moira Anderson Foundation. The support they provide really helped me through a very tough time in my life.



When I thought there was no one to turn to, or that no one could help me the Moira Anderson Foundation gave me hope and allowed me to move on in my life. I cannot praise or thank the support workers and volunteers who helped me.


